Description

This homemade Shamrock Shake is minty, creamy, and super fun to sip on for St. Patrick’s Day. Made with simple ingredients and ready in minutes, it's the perfect festive treat without the drive-thru wait!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2-3 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2-3 drops green food coloring (optional)
  • Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
  • Maraschino cherries, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine vanilla ice cream, whole milk, peppermint extract, and green food coloring.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Taste and adjust color or mintiness as needed.
  4. Pour into a glass, top with whipped cream and a cherry, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use non-dairy ice cream and plant-based milk. For a naturally green shake, blend in fresh spinach. This recipe is best fresh but can be frozen for up to 1 month and re-blended before serving.
